About Splendiffy.com Home
Our Philosophy
We are not green freaks. Splendiffy.com is about mainstream green. It is about incorporating environmental awareness into everyday consciousness.
When a person has a child for the first time, his perspective changes the day that child is born. The safety of that child becomes a topic that moves to the top of the priority list. You question where you live, the car you buy, how you drive it, the people you associate with and how you budget your money in a completely new light.
In very much the same way as how a person’s perspective changes when a child is born, a person's perspective also changes when climate change and pollution enter one's frame of reference. Once aware, one continues to live a "normal" life, he simply adds another element to his decision-making criteria.
TRADITIONAL BUYING CRITERIA
Traditionally, consumers have relied upon three criteria to make purchasing decisions:
- Price
- Quality (including safety, durability, craftsmanship, etc.)
- Convenience/Availability
Today, there is a very strong fourth criterion: Greenness. How green is the product? How green is the merchant?
Our Mission
Recognizing that consumers are increasingly cognizant of the fourth buying criterion, Splendiffy.com seeks to help consumers gather information on retailers' commitment to preserving the environment.
Splendiffy.com will provide links to certified websites, directing consumers to the most environmentally-aware, least toxic retailers. Purchases made via these links will pay Splendiffy an affiliate commission, providing the only source of revenue to help fund our operation.
Splendiffy.com Green Certification
We have asked retailers to respond to the following questions. For those who responded, we have posted their answers on Splendiffy.com to help consumers gain a better understanding of the organization's commitment to preserving the environment.
The responses are displayed in a blog-type format, inviting employees and customers to post comments related to each answer provided.
Our team evaluates questionnaire responses and, presuming a qualifying score, provides the responding merchant with a SplendiffySeal™, certifying that company's participation in our program. We encourage you to look for the SplendiffySeal™ when making shopping decisions.
